Robertas Lozinskis is celebrated for his virtuosity and expressive performances, standing out as one of the foremost pianists of his generation. His performances have taken him to major concert halls such as the Philharmonie and Konzerthaus in Berlin, Bargemusic in New York, the Budapest Music Center, and the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium. He has appeared at prominent festivals including the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, Heidelberger Frühling Music Festival, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany, ENSEMS Festival in Spain, Schiermonnikoog Festival in the Netherlands, and the Pažaislis Festival in Lithuania. Throughout his career, Robertas has performed in over 20 countries across Europe, North America, and beyond.
Robertas’s captivating artistry has led to collaborations with prominent orchestras, including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra under Jean-Claude Picard, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra under Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, and the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra led by Pavel Kogan. His versatility spans a wide range of repertoire, from Baroque to contemporary, and his appreciation for jazz and pop music adds further depth to his musical perspective. He has premiered works by many living composers, demonstrating his adaptability across various musical styles.
A devoted chamber musician, Robertas co-founded Trio Agora with clarinetist Žilvinas Brazauskas and cellist Natania Hoffman. The ensemble has premiered numerous contemporary works and released three critically acclaimed albums: Youth (2017), featuring works by composers in their youth; Connecting Identities (2020), dedicated to the Centennial of the Restored State of Lithuania; and Hotel Tango (2023), exploring the evolution of tango music through original arrangements and a reimagined version of Astor Piazzolla’s Four Seasons in Buenos Aires. This album was considered for a Grammy nomination in 2023.
Robertas is equally dedicated to education. He has conducted masterclasses at various festivals and music schools in Lithuania and abroad. He previously served as a faculty member at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's Junior Conservatoire and is currently a mentor at the National Students’ Academy (NMA) in Lithuania, where he imparts his knowledge and experience to aspiring young musicians.
Expanding his reach as a music entrepreneur, Robertas is developing PianoBuffs, an innovative online platform aimed at presenting piano music in an engaging and educational way. By blending performance, storytelling, and insights, PianoBuffs seeks to make classical music accessible and exciting for a new generation of listeners across various digital platforms.
Deeply committed to his local community, Robertas co-founded Kaunas Piano Fest, a festival and masterclass series that has become a vibrant part of the cultural landscape in his hometown. Since 2018, the festival has attracted talented pianists from around the world, providing young artists with opportunities for personalized lessons, performances, and workshops.
Robertas’s contributions to the arts have been recognized with numerous accolades, including winning the 7th International M. K. Čiurlionis Piano and Organ Competition in Vilnius, where he received the First Prize, the Audience Prize, and a special prize for the best performance of M. K. Čiurlionis' works. He also won the First Prize and the Audience Prize at the Sheepdrove Piano Competition in the UK in 2015. Robertas has been a winner of over 20 international piano competitions and has received honors from the President and Prime Minister of Lithuania. He has also been supported by prestigious organizations such as the M. Rostropovich Foundation and was awarded the Young Artist Prize by the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture.
Robertas has continually refined his artistry by participating in masterclasses with many of the world’s most distinguished pianists, including Nikolai Lugansky, Pascal Devoyon, Christopher Elton, Mikhail Voskresensky, Stanislav Pochekin, Michel Beroff, Dmitri Bashkirov, Steven Osborne, Dmitri Alexeev, Hortense Cartier-Bresson, Oliver Kern, and Elisabeth Leonskaja.
Robertas began his formal music education at the Juozas Naujalis Music Gymnasium under the guidance of Birutė Kumpikienė. He earned his bachelor’s degree at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, studying with Prof. Zbignevas Ibelgauptas, and spent a year as an exchange student at the Berlin University of the Arts where he studied with Prof. Elena Lapitskaja. In 2016, he completed his master’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under Prof. Fali Pavri. From 2018 to 2022, he studied at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, earning two additional master's degrees in music: one in solo performance with Prof. Kirill Gerstein and another in chamber music performance with Prof. Eberhard Feltz and Prof. Martin Spangenberg.
